The technology of the Internet is warping time and space. It’s a time machine.

Apparently, the longest career path a budding young musical performer (notice I didn’t say musician) can now have before being dethroned by the fresh face of a new generation of music-maker is approximately 5 to 9 weeks (this even comes with breakout appearance on SNL).

At this rate, we calculate that everyone on planet Earth will get their 15 minutes of fame by 2012. (Well, everyone that can comfortably hit a note a few octaves above middle C, I guess).
