Wil Arndt Gets Mini-Profile in STEP Inside Design Magazine

Friday, April 13th, 2007

Wil’s obsessiveness over charts and time-control gets leaked into the March/April 2007 issue of STEP Inside Design Magazine. Check out Michelle Taute’s wonderful “Can’t Do Without…” column for a photo of Wil and his “personal management grid system*”, as well as the “must haves” of other great designers.

* Which, ironically, he doesn’t use as much anymore since the advent of his newish Tablet PC.

mod7 Project is an 11th Annual Webby Awards Official Honoree

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

We’re happy to announce that an ancient mod7 project (well, ancient by web standards) is still getting some kudos and recognition within the internet community! The ieMix1.0 is an honoree in the Rich Media Advertising: Non-Profit/Educational category.

From the Webby Awards website:

“Of the more than 8,000 entries submitted to the 11th Annual Webby Awards, fewer than 15% were distinguished as an Official Honoree. This honor signifies an outstanding caliber of work. Congratulations to all of our Official Honoree selections!”

ActionScript 3 MD5 and SHA1

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Geoffrey Williams on his blog post:

“I’ve taken the time to convert a publicly available JavaScript MD5 and SHA1 API to AS3.”

This allows Flash to take a string (say, “password”) and encrypt that using SHA1(”5baa61e4c9b93f3f0682250b6cf8331b7ee68fd8“) or MD5 (”5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99“).

Wonderful!! Now, if only this could be done in AS2… no?
